Marcome100If you love Twitter the way I do, you may not even remember life before the social networking phenomenon! How did you used to connect with people all over the world?

Could you imagine forging friendships in Seattle, London, Tokyo & Australia at the same time?  Who knew that I would do so in 2009?

I think of life as being infused with “Twitter Magic.”  I’ve been able to connect with friends and fans on a much more personal, direct way than ever before!  My relationships have taken on a deeper quality, no matter how many miles separate the two of us.  You might as well be sitting in my living room!

I am very curious to find out how Twitter has impacted your life?  Do you feel the same Twitter magic that I do?  Perhaps you have found a new voice on social or well-being issues.  Maybe you’ve started some meaningful conversations on other topics that are important to you.  Tell me how Twitter benefited you!

Who knew how much power you can find in 140 characters!

Please share your stories in the comment section below.  You may even want to tweet about it!

Twitter is miraculous. I have made so many new and wondrous friends on Twitter. I am honestly amazed at the way that Twitter has allowed us all to become such a large part of each other’s every day lives. I feel close to my friends in England, Scotland, Wales, Canada, Germany and America, despite living in Australia. In fact, if you want to know a great story, I met somebody on Twitter who lives 16,000km away, and through Twitter, other social networking sites, instant messenging, emails, real letters in the real post, Skype and some incredible phone calls, we’ve fallen for one another. Modern day fairy-tale? I love it. I love that I have found this connection. Twitter is a delight, and I don’t regret a day of the two years I’ve spent on it. Bless. <3

Thanks very much! I’ve never met so many kindred spirits than on Twitter and I really enjoy all the knowledge base I have access to. I feel a connection to the rest of the world and it comforts me!

Sweet Marcomé, I can hardly post now: my eyes are too watery from reading all the posts by such wonderful and warm people! :-)

I’ve only been active on Twitter for a short while, so it’s still too early to pronounce on how it has affected my life. I’m sure if I get my act together and ‘do it right’, I will find that it will have enriched me in many ways.

Twitter has already given me a platform to share my passions about life and living. And I enjoy reading your posts in which you do the same.

Thank you for everything you’re doing to enrich our world. You are a beautiful being. :-) xx

Ive been on Twitter for only 1 month, and Ive definitely been touched by the magic! I think all the positivity, the sharing, the interaction – has changed certain aspects of my own life. I am much more aware of things in my day to day life, and much more eager to share them with all my tweeps. Ive become more of an optimist, after realizing that no one really cares to see all the negativity. I am in LOVE with twitter.

  4. Ley Marie says:

I totally agree with everything you have written! My life is infused with “Twitter Magic” I have just been tweeting for three months and I consider it one of the best thing ever discovered/made :) I have met (and even became friends to some) the best people around the globe through twitter. I form new friendships at the comfort of my own living room without leaving my kids… for a work-at-home mommy like me, that really means a lot! I am certainly looking forward to nurturing more and lasting friendship with my twit-friends :):):)

p.s. It’s nice to know and connect with people like you who can relate with my “love” for twitter :)

    • marcome says:

Tks for sharing Ley Marie. I exactly feel the same about having friends all over the world in the comfort of my house! Internet brings much more than we had thought, it’s gradually changing human interactions. I wish you a soothing day and a creative weekend with your loved ones! Marcomé xx

  5. It was my anniversary and I needed ideas on what to do and where to go. I contacted @SeattleMaven and she set me up with all the information I needed. We got good deals at a Twitter friendly Seattle hotel, we were booked to two theater shows and dinner reservations all from Twitter information.

  6. Hi Marcome. What a Great Article & so True! I have found my niche here in spreading the “Positive” Aspects of Life & Beyond… I did find something helpful for longer tweets. Thought I would Share; It is “Twitlonger” for when you need more than 140 Characters. I do use this to my advantage. Liking the Tweet Keys too as you can see …..

Thanks again for Posting a Positive Twitter Article, & Wishing Everyone Who Reads This, a Blessed Peaceful Day,

Hi Marcome, this is such a wonderful topic to post. I’ve always been a fairly social girl. Twitter and other social media platforms have opened up so many fantastic avenues for me. I sincerely enjoy connecting with people around the globe. It’s amazing how one soul can forge a bond with another completely online. It brings a smile to my face when I see a favorite avatar, and I read what that friend is sharing today.

I’m also appreciative of social media because it allows me a greater opportunity to spread my voice on topics near to my heart: animal rescue, wildlife conservation, green living, oneness.

It is truly a pleasure connecting with You.

Wow! Twitter is simply amazing. I have met more people in my own city this past year who I would now consider friends and associates. We have a very active face to face Twitter community in Victoria BC Canada #yyj based in part on #victoriatweetup and Social Media Club Victoria #smcvictoria.

We support one another in business and for fun, promote many cultural and community events, and raise money for charity through events like Twestival Local and Global.

As a passionate arts advocate I’ve had the opportunity to connect with like minded individuals the world over – for this I am very grateful.

I dream of a round the world trip to connect with you all face to face. Thanks for being part of the Twitterverse.

    • marcome says:

Tks Janis! Isn’t funny that we now connect more than ever…with computers! I appreciate you taking the time to chat my Canadian neighbor! Tks for being you! Marcomé xx

  10. Sandy says:

I think the greatest thing has been connecting with people in my own city that I may have not met otherwise. Twitter starts the conversation, breaks the ice and then we continue offline.

  11. Stephanie 'Reno' Martin says:

I met the man I love on Twitter. I have also made incredible friends that have helped me through some very rough times. I learn. I laugh. I love. All via Twitter. There are no words to express the difference Twitter has made in my life. None.

    • marcome says:

I sure relate to what you say! I met my hubby on the web so it changed my life! there’s resources on twitter like I’ve rarely seen. The most valuable is us, human beings, kindred spirits sharing, evolving and finding new ways to grow! Tks for your kind sharing Stephanie. Marcomé xx

  12. Tom says:

Twitter has made me much more… aware of the world around me and how different people think – which has come in really handy at school! Also, who doesn’t love being the first to find something out?!

  13. I find Twitter yo be equally inspiring, and motivating. While I do social for a living, sometimes
It’s hard to stay social once a big event is over. Now, after a big event or conference, I can stay connected with all of the people I met personally with out feeling overwhemed with “follow ups”

Another thing Twitter has done for me. Each day I say good morning to my followers, I wish them well through out the day, and I share with them not only what I’m doing professionally, but also what & who inspires me. Just think if you did the sme thing with the people in your real life. (IRL). So, now I do.

Twitter has helped me by helping me find a tutor for a new language, I have made new friends that promote community efforts, fight cancer, enjoy similar music, live in nearby Orange County and most of the visitors to my site saw me on twitter first.

    • marcome says:

This is wonderful! I thank you for sharing, it’s a very good example of ’side advantages’ of twitter! I wish you a soothing next hour! xxMarcomé

  15. Bill says:

Wow, twitter is an amazing place. I’ve never really gotten into social networking before but someone suggested that I check out Twitter….I’ve been amazed everyday since. I have friends, like you, all around the world who are positive, inspirational & creative dynamo’s. It’s great to be uplifted everyday & to feel the love growing around the world.

Thanks for being apart of it Marcome, you’re a beautiful, inspiring & creative person yourself & I’m a better person for knowing you.

    Hugs,

    Bill

    • marcome says:

Sweet Bill, it’s totally reciprocal, you’re an inspiring person who contributes to spread good vibes to a world which really needs it! Thks for being you. I’m grateful to you! Marcomé xx

  16. I’m still figuring out twitter but see the possiblities. It’s hard though when you aren’t “socially organized” and now instead of engaging one person at a time there are hundreds. I find it a bit confusing.
    Nice post :)

  17. Twitter is a miracle of interaction. I do not have words enough to express the blessing twitter has been for me. I have met so many wonderful people. I have over 23,000 followers and growing everyday. I love to login everyday and see what is happening. There is always a kind word to read and a kind word to give. Marcome is one of the truly special people on twitter I would have never met if I had not been part of the miracle that has happened and is happening on twitter. I hope twitter will continue to be about people never products. When I was so ill all I could do was type for a bit, I could do good on twitter. It helped me find value in life just being able to type something good, share something good, cheer someone along. It helped take the focus off of me and my troubles. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to participate with you all in the social media explosion. I love you for the good you do. I love you for who you are. I love you especially Marcome because the sweet sweet soul you share with your beautiful music. Thank you for sharing! Namaste my dear sweet song bird who loves to tweet :-)

I have been on Twitter since 2007, however it has only been in the last year or so it really took off. Being ’social’ media it is a delightful mix of great friends and business!

My company, Morgan PR, in the UK, helps businesses use social media to support their clients and find new prospects, and Twitter is a big part of that for many. Certainly it helps us support clients and find new prospects!

I have to say though, one of the best bits has to be the wonderful people I have met both virtually and in real life, and one who unfailingly makes me smile is the serene songbird that is Marcomé! Thank you x

    • marcome says:

Thank you Nigel, how sweet of you! I totally relate to what you said. When I started on Twitter, I did not understand at all what was the purpose of it! It took me a few months to figure it out and the funny part is that a sweet guy in London showed me how to use twitter! We’ve became friends since then and I’m looking forward to meet with him this year. The physical world keeps changing! My grand mother saw the birth of the phone and electricity; I met my hubby on the web…! Thks for being you Nigel, Marcomé xx
